Feridinand Porsche... did you know he was a chauffer in the military?
He was the chauffeur for Archduke Ferdinand of Austria, after being drafted for military duty.
This was at a point in his life (age 27) when he was already making cars, significantly, the Lonher Porsche hybrid, and he'd been racing that in 1900... so the Archduke has some pull in the personnel dept... to get a race car driver as his Chauffer!
photos I've posted before http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/search?q=lohner

a motorcycle with just one cylinder... excusable when it's a 600cc cylinder. The 1936 Bohmerland with sidecar (garish colors though)
Who finds this stuff? The guy who makes http://silodrome.com/bohmerland-motorcycle/ . He doesn't write much more than I do.

Buick is trying to get your attention... if their car making isn't getting your notice, maybe Shaq, Ving Rhames, or a beautiful blonde will
Now, if Buick would just go back to making a GSX, GNX, etc etc... they would not need funny commercials, they would have serious free publicity. Why don't they? The Caddy (whatever) is a Corvette in an expensive suit. Make a Corvette in a Buick body, and let it be cool, not stodgy.

The 1930 Ruxton from the Nethercutt collection was at the Dana Point Concours de Elegance, a good example of just how colorful expensive cars were in 1930
I posted this car a little bit from when I was at the Nethercutt, but indoors and boxed in by other cars, with lousy lighting did not show it off as well as this. The other great colors are here http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2011/07/ruxtons-quite-colorful-way-of-calling.html
